The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) has started a three-day workshop in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to implement a Single Window for Land and Property Transactions. The workshop will focus on the governance, management, and sharing of spatial or land use data and information, the establishment of a digital parcel-based land information system, and the establishment of an electric single window for land and property transactions. On 21.04.24 Police arrested and charged Oriette Bobb, 20-year-old Sales Clerk of Mesopotamia on six (6) counts of theft.The Accused who was employed at Cash Money Investments, located in Sion Hill Bay, allegedly stole on six (6) different occasions money amounting to $2070. ECC in total- is the property of Cash Money Investments. The incidents occurred between the 15.03.24 and the 16.04.24.Bobb is expected to appear before the Kingstown Magistrate Court to answer the charges.
The South East Zone Police Youth Clubs conducted a successful beach clean-up at Argyle Beach on Saturday, April 20, 2024, to mark Earth Day. However, it has been confirmed that personnel from the Health Department recently carried out tuberculosis tests and provided health education on the infectious respiratory ailment on prisoners and prison at the said facility. The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court has rejected an appeal submitted by Unicomer (St Vincent) Ltd, the owner of ‘Courts’ St Vincent.The judgment which was delivered on April 17 means that the company would have to pay the amount owed to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), unless they file an appeal at the Privy Council.The issue arose after an audit of the company was conducted for the period 2007 to 2011 and a subsequent audit done in 2015 and when the Comptroller of the Inland Revenue Department assessed that the company owed a sum amounting to EC$12.66 million inclusive of interest…
