April 22, 2025 – Kingstown: A 41-year-old Colombian national, Mateo Florez, has been arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon. According to police reports, on April 16, 2025, Florez, a retiree, was allegedly found in possession of a cutlass along the Rose Bank Public Road without lawful excuse and with intent to commit an offence. He appeared before the Layou Magistrate Court on April 17, 2025. Following the hearing, the court ordered that he be admitted to the Mental Health Centre for a two-week evaluation. April 23, 2025 – Kingstown:The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has confirmed that no foul play is suspected in the death of 48-year-old Cuthbert Carlos Young, a security guard of Roseau, Sion Hill. Mr. Young’s body was discovered at his residence on Thursday, April 17, 2025. A post-mortem examination conducted on April 22 determined that he died from hypervolemic shock due to a bleeding peptic ulcer. The RSVGPF continues its investigation into the matter and has extended heartfelt condolences to Mr. Young’s family and friends.
