The United Nations Children’s agency (UNICEF) is urging the Barbados-based Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) not to proceed with this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations in their current form given the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Seismic activity at La Soufrière, St Vincent, has remained low since the tremor associated with the explosion and ash venting on 22 April. In the last 24 hours, only a few long-period and volcano-tectonic earthquakes have been recorded.
