The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) has conducted tests on beam samples currently being used on the Georgetown Coastal Defence Project. The flexural strength tests were done to determine the maximum load the concrete would be able to take before failure. The beam samples were taken from the OB Sadoo Plant located in Rabacca. The Georgetown Coastal Defence project is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Finance. The tests were carried out at BRAGSA’s Laboratory located in Argyle.

The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) has completed excavation work on 300 feet of the Richmond River. The project saw the rebuilding of a damaged area of the river bank following the heavy rains in recent months. The work was carried out in an effort to reclaim a section of the road that was damaged due to the rains. In addition, work was done to align and trench the river bed to facilitate a smoother flow of water.

HAMILTON, Bermuda (CMC) — The Bermuda government has extended COVID-19 restrictions through the holidays after a surge in coronavirus cases continued to impact the island. The restrictions – including an 11:00 pm to 5:00 am curfew and orders for bars and restaurants to close at 10:00 pm – were scheduled to end on December 22, but will now continue until January 4, officials announced. A Texas man allegedly stabbed his wife and their two children to death over the weekend, and lay in bed with the three dead bodies, authorities said. Officers responded to Bryan Richardson’s home in Copperas Cove on Saturday night on a welfare check, and found him covered in blood lying next to his dead wife, Kiera, and their two young children, WFTV reported. The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) has completed the renovation of the Soroptimist International Comfort Station in Heritage Square, Kingstown. The project saw the replacement of toilets and wash basins, along with the construction of a counter and a baby change station in the female bathroom. Work was also done on the roof, and a perimeter fence was erected. In addition, BRAGSA painted and carried out electrical work on the building. The Comfort Station is scheduled to be re-opened tomorrow.
