Police Service Commision Approves Royal SVG Police Officers’ Promotions Two days before Vincentians take to the polls on Election Day 2020 (Nov 5) some 46 members of the local constabulary have been promoted to higher ranks. Such was the content of a 3 paged memo apparently dispatched by Top Cop Colin John to his Deputy Frankie Joseph. Police have arrested and charged Larry Abbott, 38 years old farmer of Green Hill with the offence of wounding on 31.10.2020. According to investigations, the Accused allegedly wounded a 32 year old farmer also of Green Hill by shooting him in his neck with a fish gun. The incident occurred about 10:30pm on 30.10.2020 The Accused appeared before the Serious Offences Court to answer to the charge and pleaded not guilty. He was remanded into custody. The matter was adjourned to Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 for bail review.

Effective today, Tuesday, November 3, 14 more countries will be added to the list of those deemed high risk for COVID-19 by health authorities in Barbados, bringing the total number in this category to 50. In the latest updated COVID-19 travel protocols, the new countries which have moved into high risk are Antigua and Barbuda, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Iceland, Japan, Martinique, Norway, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. Students of the SVGCC who were successful at this year’s CSEC and CAPE examinations were on hand yesterday November 2nd, 2020 to receive a $500 incentive award for their performance, an initiative which was instituted by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2008.The award ceremony saw a total of 1,047 students being rewarded.
