Work has started on the road besides the Calliaqua police station leading into Glen. The project which is being carried out by BRAGSA, will see the resurfacing of over 900 feet of asphalt roadway, and the construction of drains. Approximately 125 tons of asphalt is expected to be used. It is being done at an estimated cost of 232-thousand EC dollars. Meanwhile, the public is being asked to note that the road will be closed Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm for the next two weeks. The Youth and Adult Training for Employment (YATE) programme will commence Cohort 3 of its training at various technical institutes across St. Vincent and the Grenadines during the month of August, 2020. Orientation sessions will run from 5th – 7th August 2020 and official training will begin on the 10th August. The training will be conducted for a period of 13 weeks, inclusive of a 2-week workshop on Life Skills and Financial Literacy. Charged with ‘perverting the course of justice’ is St Elmore Garraway, a 42-year-old contractor. The second accused is 37-year-old Deverson Williams and he is charged with ‘obstruction of a police officer’.
