A member of the RSVGPF is in custody assisting his colleagues of the Sexual Offences Unit with an allegation of attempted Rape. The officer, stationed on one of the Grenadine Islands was taken into custody yesterday following a report by a 20-year old female that he assaulted and attempted to rape her. The police have confirmed to ANN the arrest of the officer and that an investigation is currently taking place. No charges have been laid up to the time of the publication of this article.

The accused man allegedly had unlawful sexual intercourse a 16-year-old Student who at the time of the intercourse did not consent to it or was reckless as to whether she consented or not. The incident occurred on 31.03.19. The accused is expected to appear before the Family Court to answer the charge.
