Police are investigating a motor vehicular accident involving an unknown vehicle and a pedestrian Esworth Dick, 62 years old Retired Farmer of Biabou which occurred along the Biabou Public Road about 9:45pm on 22.04.19. According to reports the unknown vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the scene. Dick, who was subsequently rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, sustained a broken left foot and is still a patient there. Police have arrested and jointly charged Kadir Nedd, 25-year-old school teacher of South Rivers and Ezra Cruickshank, 35-year-old entertainer also of South Rivers with the assault of a 17-year-old unemployed young man of Edinboro. The accused men allegedly slapped the complainant about his face and hitt him in his head with their hands at South Rivers about 9:00am on April 21, 2019. The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is this week continuing with its public education programmes which are focusing on community preparedness for a volcano eruption. The sessions are being held as part of a month of activities being held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the last eruption of La Soufriere Volcano. A project, aimed at providing improved Broadband Internet to customs here, is moving ahead speedily by Telecommunications Provider Digicel. The Company has begun the installation of Fibre Optic Subsea Cable under the Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (CARCIP) project. Director of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, Apollo Knights says this is a critical part of the project as it will improve internet connections in the Grenadine Islands.
