Occasional showers and chance of thunderstorm activity are forecast for Friday across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as a tropical wave affects the island. Moisture will remain elevated into the weekend due to this wave, and shortly behind the wave is a small area of low pressure. This system has a high chance of cyclone development during the next two days, and has a westward forward motion. Model guidance is indicating the low passing to the north of SVG Saturday night into Sunday and some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms are expected ahead and during the passage of this disturbance. The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the progress of this system.

A predominantly south easterly wind flow of 15km/h- 25km/h will move across SVG during the next few days. Seas will remain slight to moderate in open water, with swells ranging between 0.5m-1.0m on the western coasts and 1.5m-2.0m on the eastern coasts. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
