ANN has received a report of a rape that occurred on Tuesday 30th October 2018 in the Constituency of South Central Windward.

It is alleged that a man in his early thirties raped a 23-year-old female who has special needs.

Reports reaching ANN suggests that the young lady, who originates from the constituency of South Central Windward, has the mindset of an eight-year-old child. The young lady was home alone when the incident occurred. The perpetrator, a resident of the same area, allegedly raped the female while the mother was away. After the incident, she was taken to the Georgetown Hospital for examination.

Under the laws of St Vincent and the Grenadines, a person commits an offense if he has sexual intercourse with someone who lacks mental capacity.
