JAMAICA GLEANER – The fire department is now probing the cause of a blaze that destroyed the headquarters of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) lobby group, J-FLAG.

The department said it received a call about 9:45 last night about a fire at the Stanton Terrace, St Andrew property and a unit from the Half Way Tree fire station was dispatched to the scene.

The department further said that the entire building was engulfed and a unit from the York Park fire station was subsequently sent to the scene to provide support.

The building was destroyed by the blaze.

The fire department said it is yet to determine the cause of the fire and estimate the damage as it is in the preliminary stage of its investigation.

We were unable to get a comment from the leadership of J-FLAG.
