PRIVATE bus driver Aleem Mohammed appeared before the court charged with having sex with a 12-year-old girl three times at a guest house.

Mohammed, 33 of Tableland, faced the three charges before San Fernando magistrate Alicia Chankar.

It was alleged that in 2017, between August 1 and 25, on August 26 and between November 3 to 6, he had sex with the girl at Premier Guest House in Ste Madeleine.

The indictable charges were laid by constable Hamilton of the Child Protection Unit.

Defence attorney Crystal Jalim told the court her client transported people on excursions via his bus.

Mohammed’s criminal record, presented by police prosecutor Cleyon Seedan, showed he had previous convictions having been fined for possession a gun, ammunition and camouflage clothing. He was also previously convicted for driving while under the influence of alcohol
