The St Vincent and the Grenadines Geothermal Company says it is
collaborating with the Forestry Services in the Ministry of Agriculture,
to ensure that the nation’s wildlife is not adversely affected by the
Geothermal Development Project.
This assurance has come from Environmental Specialist, Dr. Reynold
Murray, who is also the Secretary of the Grievance-Redress and Re-
settlement Committees, established as part of the project.
Dr. Murray explained that consideration has been given to the impact of
the drilling on species such as the Amazona Guildingi.
Exploratory drilling for the National Geothermal Development Project is
expected to commence during the first week in May.
The drill rig is expected to arrive here by the first week of April.
