Late yesterday, May 27, police in BVI officially charged the man being held in the death of Lenia Green.

Rohan Williams, 37, a native of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, residing at Great Mountain, was charged with the murder of Green.

According to the Police Information Office, “Detectives of the RVIPF Major Crime Team at 5:00pm today charged one man for murder.”

Green was shot and left on the road at George’s North Side on Sunday, May 26. She was transported to Dr. D. O. Smith hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Alwin James, commended the officers of the RVIPF and is appealing to the public.

“I wish to commend the officers involved in the response and investigations for their swift actions which resulted in the charge of one person. I appeal to members of the public who can be of assistance to the investigations to still come forward.”

Williams is to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, May 28.
