A Vincentian has been awarded Male Young Leader of the Year at the Caribbean Youth Leadership Retreat in Bridgetown, Barbados. Te’ Browne; a 17 year old student at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College was recognised for his commitment to excellence in advocacy and youth leadership.
The Retreat was held from December 27 – 30, 2019 and hosted by the United Young Leaders of Barbados. The participants included youth from Barbados, Dominica, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.
The theme for this year’s retreat was “Run Wid It: Youth and Health”. Participants engaged in physical activity, health talks, team building, educational presentations and developed health related projects.
The retreat is held annually and is geared at promoting regional integration and youth development.
