Petit Bordel resident Vashica Pereira, a first year culinary arts student at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, became the first recipient of Generation Next Inc’s Support for Technology in Schools initiative.
On Monday, 10th February 2020, the student benefited from a HP laptop and a mobile phone courtesy of Brisha Enterprises, a New York based Vincentian-owned Company.
Youth-based charity, Generation Next Inc., known for its Access to College Education Programme (ACEP), says this new initiative will strengthen its existing educational programmes by affording students the opportunity to have greater access to technology while learning.
According to Carlos James, Director of Generation Next Inc., the Support for Technology in Schools initiative is a significant part of the group’s 2020 programme. “We are placing a greater focus on bridging the digital divide, particularly among students from rural areas and we are pleased to partner with companies such as Brisha. The company has given its commitment to this programme and other initiatives here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and I want to thank them for this important partnership,” James said.

Meanwhile, Managing Director of Brisha Enterprises, Brian DaSilva, said his company welcomes any opportunity to contribute towards the advancement of technology among the youth in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Vincentian-native noted his excitement concerning working with Generation Next Inc. to support education and technology over a long-term period.
