Keswert Slater, a 39-year-old male employed with C.K. Greaves and Company Ltd as a Customs Broker, has been charged with the theft of over EC$63,000 from the Company.

The Clare Valley man is charged with stealing EC$44,664.90 in cash from the Company between May 4, 2019 and December 31, 2019.

Slater is also accused of stealing EC$18,710.22 from the business place between January 2 and April 7, 2020.
Slater is alleged to have made the transactions during his employment with the Company.

When he initially appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on May 13, Slater pleaded guilty to both charges, and the matter was adjourned for sentencing. He was unrepresented then.

However, when the defendant returned to Court on Wednesday, he was represented by Attorney Israel Bruce, and changed his pleas to not guilty.

The matter was then adjourned to June 22.
