    Confirmed COVID-19 deaths in US hit 150,000

    NEW YORK, United States (AP) — Confirmed deaths from the coronavirus in the US hit 150,000 today, by far the highest toll in the world.           

    At yesterday’s count the country had recorded 149,260 COVID-19 deaths. Other countries hit hard include Brazil, with 88,539 deaths; Britain, with 45,878; Mexico, with 44,876, and Italy, with 35,123.
