    JAMAICA: Clergyman among four charged with having sex minor

    A member of the clergy is among four people charged with having sexual intercourse with a person under 16 in incidents in St. Andrew, St. Catherine and Clarendon.

    Ian Reid, a 32 year old church minister, who is from a community in Clarendon, is accused of having sex with a 15 year old girl in an abandoned building in the area last month.

    A statement from the police said the matter involving the clergyman was reported Tuesday.

    Mr. Reid was subsequently arrested and charged.

    Portmore men to face court

    Alwayne Kerr and Andre Barrett, who are both from Portmore, St. Catherine, have been charged with rape, having sexual intercourse with a person under 16, abduction, grievous sexual assault and human trafficking.

    It is alleged that on July 21, Mr. Kerr, who is 27, picked up a 15 year old girl in downtown Kingston.

    The teenager was reportedly taken to a house where Mr. Kerr and Mr. Barrett had sex with her.

    The men were nabbed during an operation in downtown Kingston on August 5.

    Student charged

    Meanwhile, a 16 year old student who is accused of having sex with a 15 year old girl between November 2019 and June this year, has been charged with aiding and abetting rape and having sexual intercourse with a person under 16.
