    Tropical Depression 13 is now Tropical Storm Laura

    The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) is reporting a strengthening of Tropical Depression 13, which has now been named Tropical Storm Laura.

    Laura is the twelfth named storm of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season.

    The NHC said Tropical Storm Laura has maximum sustained winds around 45 mph (75 km/h). The Hurricane Hunter aircraft from the NHC also found that the storm’s centre is located south of the previously estimated position.
