    The Bahamas COVID count still climbing, 50 new cases recorded

    The Bahamas Ministry of Health recorded 50 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2217.

    The breakdown of new cases is as follows:

    • New Providence 33
    • Grand Bahama 2
    • Inagua 3
    • Mayaguana 2
    • Long Island 1

    Locations are pending for 9 of the new cases recorded.

    A 77-year-old resident of New Providence is the latest person to die from COVID-related complications, bringing the death toll to 44.

    The Ministry of Health has since renewed calls for residents to contribute to the fight against the fast-spreading virus, by adhering to all guidelines and restrictions put in place for their protection.
