Digicel copped the 2020 Ookla Speedtest Award for The Best Mobile Coverage Provider in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – as well as picking up a raft of other individual market awards thanks to its focus on speed and coverage.
Ookla, the company behind Speedtest®, is the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis.
In addition to the 2020 award for Best Mobile Coverage Provider in the Caribbean, Digicel also received othercountry awards for 2020 Speedtest Fastest Mobile Network and 2020 Speedtest Fastest Internet Provider.
Haiti, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, were the recipients of the Fastest Mobile Network award; Curacao, Grenada, Nauru, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Barthelemy and Trinidad & Tobago won the honour of Best Mobile Coverage; and Bermuda, Dominica, Haiti, Jamaica and Turks & Caicos Islands captured Fastest Internet Provider.

The Speedtest Awards, presented by Ookla, are an elite designation reserved for fixed and mobile providers in a market. Based on consumer-initiated tests and background scans from Speedtest applications, Speedtest Awards represent real world network performance of theinternet speeds and coverage provided to customers, which in this case resulted in Digicel being awarded Fastest Mobile Network in the Caribbean.
