    FIVE NEW COVID-19 CASES FROM CANADA AND THE USA

    The Molecular Laboratory Unit of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the
    Environment today confirmed five (5) new COVID-19 cases in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Four (4) travelers are returning nationals who arrived with negative RT- PCR test results from Canada on Thursday November 12, 2020 on Air Canada AC980.

    Two nationals tested positive on preliminary entry screening for COVID- 19 and were transferred from their quarantine sites to approved isolation.

    Repeat testing according to the existing multitiered system confirmed them as positive.

    Two other nationals who arrived on Thursday 12 with negative RT-PCR results and tested negative on entry screening, tested positive on day five (5) testing on Monday
    November 16, 2020.

    Repeat testing today as part of the multitiered system confirmed
    them as positive. Both persons were in mandatory quarantine and will be isolated until cleared by two negative tests.

    The fifth (5) case is a non-national who traveled from the USA via Barbados on Saturday November 14 with a negative RT-PCR result. The adult who was found to
    be positive on entry screening and subsequent repeat testing, will remain in isolation until cleared by two negative tests.

    St. Vincent and the Grenadines has now recorded a total of eighty-three (83)COVID-19 cases, seventy-seven (77) of which have recovered. There are now six(6) active COVID-19 cases, all imported from countries categorized as “High Risk”.
