A Vincentian has been appointed to President of the Kiwanis Club at the University of Technology (UTECH) and St. Andrew in Jamaica.
Dr. Audrey Gittens was installed as President of the Club this afternoon at a virtual installation ceremony.
Dr. Gittens who previously held the post of President Elect is pleased to now serve as President of the Kiwanis Club at UTECH and St. Andrew. She noted that she will build on the foundation laid by the immediate Past President Anthonette Patterson Bartley.
President Gittens promised to serve the Club with grace and fervour. She also highlighted how critical it is for the Club members to work together to achieve its goals. She noted that members will be honoured for their contributions to the Club whether great or small.
President Gittens noted that a myriad of projects geared at helping children will be executed in her tenure.
Past President of the Kiwanis Club at UTECH and St. Andrew Anthonette Patterson Bartley congratulated Dr. Gittens on her installment to the post of President noting that Gittens is well-equipped and able to serve in that capacity.
Gittens will serve as President of the Club for one year.
The Kiwanis Club’s moto is “serving children of the world.” Kiwanis members find creative ways to serve the needs of children such as fighting hunger improving literacy and offering guidance to them. The Kiwanis Club at UTECH and St. Andrew was chartered on June 11, 2020.
