“My products are all available and patriots have been able to order via the I Land Vybez n Tingz Facebook page,” Bailey said.
“I am due to officially launch my webpage, making it much easier to order,” she added.
Bailey, who is from Belmont, St. Vincent, but has been living in the UK for over a decade, said the current climate delayed the official launching of the website, but “this has given me more time to perfect my craft”.
Bailey said she is passionate about her brand and has taken steps to ensure she is fully compliant and has the relevant food and hygiene certificates.
A HISTORY OF PRODUCTION
“Some may ask what is I Land Vybez for me not only am I creating a product but I am creating a taste of St. Vincent to persons in the diaspora through my brand,” Bailey said.
“Living here I have always longed for my island products but always found them quite hard to source and so would always end up making my own,” she added.
It was this purpose to solve a problem and meet a need that summoned the entrepreneur in Bailey.
“Over 9 years ago I started by making cakes for friends however more and more people wanted after hearing how good my cakes were, and often described them as soft and moist,” she said, adding that “it is at this point I realized there is a huge gap in the market for homemade cakes including seasonal black cakes,” she said.
Bailey said that it was three years ago that she started developing her brand and decided to create a package which now also include alcoholic drinks including rum punches, ponche du cream and seasonings.
