The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment yesterday, Wednesday 20th April, 2022 announced 5 new local COVID-19 cases resulting in a positivity rate of 7.69%.
According to the release no recoveries or death were reported over the period.
There are currently thirty eight (38) active cases, with one unvaccinated person being hospitalized..
COVID-19 case statistics
Since the pandemic began, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has carried out 98,857 PCR Covid-19 tests, with 6,769 PCR Covid-19 cases, and 6,202 Rapid Ag Covid-19 test, with 1614 Rapid Ag Covid-19 Cases.
Of the 8,383 confirmed cases, a total of 8,234 people have been removed as recoveries, while 38 cases are still active. Up until now, 106 individuals have succumbed to the disease.
36,160 have taken the first dose of the Covid-19 Vaccinate, while 30,299 have taken the second dose, with 3,557 taken booster shots. A total of 70,016 vaccines have been administered.
The public is urged to continue to use masks, sanitize, physically distance and get vaccinated to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
