On Tuesday July 26th, the groups Nekes Event and Passion Entertainment who joined forces over the carnival season to host the events DiP and Ciao gave back to the community of SVG. Nekes Events which is owned by Nekes Jones and Passion Entertainment comprising husband and wife team Grenville Williams and Shafia London hosted a virtual handover where they made monetary donations to various worthy causes.
London who chaired the conference said that the funds were obtained from the event Ciao which was held on June 30th 2022 . Ciao was a drinks inclusive carnival cooldown party enjoyed by the hundreds of patrons at Coconut Grove beach bar. The event was held in partnership with primary sponsors Republic Bank, Hairoun beer and Digicel SVG Ltd.
The duo group has decided to contribute to Esther’s promise, as well as the feeding programs of Langley Park Government school, Clare Valley Government school and Calliaqua Anglican school.
Giving brief remarks at Tuesday’s handover Grenville Williams said Passion Entertainment contributed to the activities of Vincy mas by bringing fun and elevated events to ensure persons have a fantastic time during the season.
“We are not just about entertaining, but we believe that we can make a contribution to improving thed lives of others with the proceeds” Williams said.
Nekes Jones who also gave brief remarks noted that the team recognized that a need exists and this as the start of continued high level entertainment but also contribution to the community.
Dawnette Constance, Manager Personal Baking at Republic Bank was present and said that the bank was vested in its corporate social responsibility.
“We also know that Mrs., London is very passionate about the support of the Vincentian community and giving back and we were happy to support her and the rest of the team with their events and especially proud that they have decided to give back”
London explained that the sum of $500 will be donated to Esther’s promise and $250 each to the school feeding programs of the three schools.
In her remarks, representative for recipient entity, Laura Anthony Browne said Esther’s promise caters to women who as being abused or distressed generally.
Esther’s promise is a new organization that provides at risk women with affordable housing, life skills and other support.
Desiree Wilson represented the Clare valley Government School while the Langley Park Government School was represented by Mrs. Springer and Jasmine Codrington.
They all offered remarks expressing gratitude to Passion Entertainment and Nekes events for their contribution.
