With numerous countries in the region sending delegations to St. Vincent and the Grenadines with interests in the island’s medicinal cannabis operations, this shows that SVG is perceived as a step above the others when it comes to medicinal marijuana.
This is according to CEO of the Medicinal Cannabis Authority (MCA) Dr. Jerrol Thompson while speaking on WE FM’s Activated Mornings program.
“What this signifies is that St. Vincent is seen as being a step above the rest, in the sense that, the industry is a tough industry, it’s not just growing, gathering it up and putting it into a sack and so forth. The technical things that are required, the tests, making sure there are no pesticides, no Gramoxone or Touchdown or those sort of things are present because the Gramoxone can actually affect people when smoking it; and then no heavy metal, you know, lead and mercury…” The MCA’s CEO said.
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew, recently visited the CANNA SVG Medicinal Cannabis Farm located here in SVG, a move seen as a vital step in the endeavours of St Kitts and Nevis to establish its own cannabis sector.
