LONDON, UK – Speaking at Invest SVG’s “Home Is Where the Heart Is” diaspora tour in the United Kingdom, Chairman of Invest SVG Kevin Hope delivered a clear message: the government is committed to transforming the challenge of brain drain into an opportunity for brain gain.

Hope told the diaspora audience that Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble had recently reaffirmed this commitment during spring meetings in Washington, D.C. “You are no longer separated from us,” he said. “You are at the very heart of every policy we craft and every decision we make. You are part of our nation‑building process.”

He emphasized that Invest SVG’s vision is centered on lives and livelihoods, ensuring that Vincentians abroad are included in national development. By mapping diaspora skills and interests, Hope said the government aims to harness not only financial investments but also knowledge transfer and professional networks to strengthen the economy.

The pledge to convert brain drain into brain gain, he noted, reflects a broader strategy to integrate the diaspora into St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ growth agenda, turning separation into partnership and migration into opportunity.

Invest SVG’s “Home Is Where the Heart Is” diaspora investment tour launched April 5, 2025, in the UK, before moving to Canada and the United States. The programme, supported by BOSVG and other partners, aims to connect Vincentians abroad with investment opportunities and financial services.
