Kingstown, St. Vincent, April 28, 2026-The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) has announced the cancellation of its 2026 Sports Department Annual Sports Awards Ceremony, which had been advertised on the college’s Sports Calendar. The event, held over the past four years, recognized outstanding performances by student-athletes from the institution as well as from external entities.
According to the Sports Department, the awards will be replaced with a more inclusive ceremony that honors both faculty and student excellence across a wider range of areas, from academics to sports. In its release, the department expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the Sports Awards over the years, noting their commitment to excellence and to recognizing athletes’ achievements.
The department also expressed appreciation to athletes who represented their divisions, the college, and the country in various sports over the past seven months, wishing them continued success in future endeavors.
