Kingstown, St. Vincent April 29, 2026 -The Republic of China (Taiwan) has reinforced its educational partnership with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines through the presentation of bursaries and scholarships at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (Villa Campus).
Ambassador Fiona Huei-Chun Fan announced that 30 bursaries valued at EC$2,000 each, totaling EC$60,000, were distributed to students across disciplines. In addition, 10 full scholarships covering tuition and living expenses were awarded to Vincentians pursuing advanced studies.
“Education is the foundation of national development. Taiwan is proud to stand with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in empowering its young people to achieve their dreams,” Ambassador Fan said during the ceremony.
The bursaries aim to ease financial burdens for local students, while the scholarships open pathways for higher education opportunities in Taiwan. College officials welcomed the initiative, noting its direct impact on students who demonstrate academic promise but face financial challenges.
This latest presentation underscores the deepening bilateral ties between SVG and Taiwan, particularly in human resource development and capacity building.
