Kingstown, St. Vincent, April 29, 2026 -Tourism Minister Dr. Kishore Shallow has announced a new coordinated push to strengthen Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ tourism industry, unveiling two campaigns aimed at reducing the sector’s reliance on peak seasons and encouraging greater local involvement.
Dr. Shallow stressed that the country’s tourism future depends on long‑term planning and synchronized initiatives rather than scattered projects. “Everything has to be in sync,” he said, highlighting the need for a year‑round approach to destination development.
The first initiative, “Love St. Vincent and the Grenadines (Love SVG)”, will launch in early May and focus on the traditionally slower months between May and October. The programme includes 100 projects designed to upgrade infrastructure and enhance the visitor experience, with progress showcased to international audiences in real time. Dr. Shallow noted that by November, when the next peak season begins, these improvements should significantly raise the country’s profile as a tourism destination.
Running alongside this effort is “Go Grenadines”, a campaign tailored to stimulate domestic and regional travel during the summer, particularly in August. The programme will encourage Vincentians to explore the Grenadines an area many locals rarely visit through incentives arranged with hotels, ferry services, and restaurants. Special events and promotions are expected to make travel more affordable and appealing.
According to Dr. Shallow, the dual campaigns are designed not only to attract visitors but also to foster national pride and ownership of the tourism sector. “We want people to learn about and appreciate what belongs to us,” he said, emphasizing that domestic tourism is key to building resilience and sustainability. By aligning Love SVG with Go Grenadines, the Ministry hopes to create a seamless tourism experience that blends local engagement with economic opportunity.
