Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines — Basketball fans across the Grenadines are being invited to Bequia this weekend as the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation (SVGBF), in collaboration with the Bequia Basketball Association (BBA), hosts the highly anticipated Grenadines 3X3 Basketball Tournament.
The two-day competition is scheduled to take place at the Clive Tannis Hard Court, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, and continuing on Saturday, May 9.
Organisers say seven teams from Bequia, Mayreau, and Union Island have already confirmed participation in what is expected to be a fast-paced and entertaining showcase of basketball talent from across the Grenadines.
The tournament forms part of continued efforts by the SVGBF and BBA to strengthen the development of basketball throughout the Grenadines while creating more opportunities for athletes to compete and sharpen their skills.
Officials are encouraging basketball supporters, residents, and visitors alike to come out and enjoy the weekend atmosphere and support the participating teams.
Admission to the tournament is free, and patrons are also encouraged to support the event by purchasing food and drinks from the bar during the weekend activities.
The SVGBF says the tournament is another important step in growing the sport beyond mainland St. Vincent and fostering stronger sporting connections among the islands of the Grenadines.
