Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines May 13, 2026 – A 31-year-old labourer from Diamond has been charged with murder following the death of a 60-year-old pastor.
The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said Branson Paris was arrested and charged on May13th in connection with the killing of the woman, who was attacked at her home in Diamond on April 21st.
The Serious Offences Court in Kingstown heard the matter on Wednesday May 14th, where the accused was not required to enter a plea as the charge is indictable. The court ordered that he be sent to a mental health facility for observation, and the case was adjourned to June 16th
Police have not publicly confirmed a motive. However, court proceedings indicate that mental health has become a central consideration in the early stage of the case, following the magistrate’s order for psychiatric evaluation.
