Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented on the regional basketball stage as Team SVG prepares to compete in the upcoming ANOCES U23 3X3 Basketball Tournament in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
The tournament is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2026, and will bring together some of the region’s emerging young basketball talent in a fast-paced 3X3 format competition.
The event is being organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees of the OECS (ANOCES) in collaboration with the British Virgin Islands Olympic Committee, with support from the Pan American Sports Organization. Organizers say the initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen sports development and regional cooperation throughout the Eastern Caribbean.
Six countries are confirmed to participate in the tournament: the British Virgin Islands, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Representing Team SVG will be Maxron Dublin, Elroy Joseph, Adrian Sam and Aquando Henry. The Vincentian squad will be guided by Coach Vasha Adams as they look to make a strong showing against regional competition.
In addition to player participation, the tournament will also provide development opportunities for basketball officials. Vincentian Tevin Bynoe is expected to take part in referee training workshops during the event.
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation (SVGBF) expressed gratitude to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee (SVGNOC) for its continued financial support and commitment to the development of basketball in the country.
SVGBF President Suzette Jackson also extended best wishes to the team ahead of the tournament, expressing confidence in the athletes as they continue to showcase the growing talent and potential of Vincentian basketball on the regional stage.
The ANOCES U23 3X3 Basketball Tournament is expected to provide valuable exposure and experience for the participating athletes while helping to further promote the rapidly growing 3X3 version of the sport across the Caribbean.
