Kingstown St. Vincent May 14, 2026 – The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has launched a new national tourism initiative aimed at strengthening communities, improving visitor experiences and expanding participation in the tourism sector.
The programme, titled “LOVE SVG”, was launched by Tourism Minister Kishore Shallow and is expected to run during the tourism off-season between May and October 2026.
Officials say the initiative will focus on preparing the country for the upcoming tourist season through 100 priority projects across a range of sectors, including natural attractions, heritage and cultural sites, transport infrastructure, hospitality services and community tourism.
According to the ministry, the programme is intended not only to improve infrastructure but also to strengthen the connection between tourism and everyday life in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The initiative places particular emphasis on community involvement and national participation, with authorities saying tourism development should reflect the country’s culture, identity and aspirations.
“LOVE SVG is about putting people at the heart of tourism development,” Minister Shallow said.
“It is about ensuring that the growth of the sector is felt in our communities, supports our culture, and uplifts the everyday Vincentian.”
The minister said the programme would encourage citizens to take an active role in shaping the future of tourism in the country.
