The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environmental Health and Energy has announced that CT scan services at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) are now fully operational.
In a press release issued on Thursday, May 15, 2026, the Ministry said the restoration of the service is expected to improve access to diagnostic healthcare for patients across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
According to the Ministry, the Radiology Department has already begun contacting patients with outstanding CT scan referrals as part of efforts to reduce waiting times and clear the existing backlog.
Patients who have been awaiting appointments, as well as individuals with recent referrals for CT scan services, are being encouraged to contact or visit the Radiology Department at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital to schedule their appointments.
The Ministry also urged members of the public seeking additional information or appointment scheduling assistance to communicate directly with the hospital’s Radiology Department.
Health officials said the reopening of the CT scan service reflects the government’s continued commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and expanding access to quality medical services throughout the country.
The CT scanner plays a critical role in diagnosing a wide range of medical conditions, including injuries, internal bleeding, strokes, cancers and other serious health concerns.
