Kingstown St. Vincent May 19,2026-Students of the Fair Hall Government School were given a first-hand look at the workings of a financial institution during a visit to the GECCU as part of the school’s Community-based Learning Programme.

The visit, held on Thursday, 14 May, saw Grade 7 to 9 students participate in a guided tour of GECCU’s customer service operations, including its teller and member services departments.

According to GECCU, the students took part in role-playing exercises designed to simulate everyday financial interactions, providing practical exposure aimed at strengthening their social, behavioural and self-management skills.

The organisation said the initiative formed part of its wider commitment to community engagement and youth development in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

GECCU also highlighted the role played by staff members in creating what it described as a welcoming and supportive learning environment for the visiting students.

“As a trusted financial partner, GECCU promotes inclusivity in our communities,” the institution said in a statement on their social media page.

The credit union added that it remains committed to helping nurture responsible future leaders through educational outreach and community partnerships.
