The H20 Lions Swim Academy of Questelles proudly represented Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the prestigious Sonia O’Neal Memorial Invitational Swimming Competition held in Barbados from May 21–24. The event, hosted by the Barbados Aquatic Sports Association, brought together talented young swimmers from across the region for four days of competitive action and sportsmanship.

Representing the Academy were swimmers Tezza Sutherland, competing in the girls’ 9–10 age category, alongside Ezron Quashie and Tyler Forde, who swam in the boys’ 11–12 division. Accompanying the team were two dedicated coaches, Head Coach Mrs. Josel Williams and Assistant Coach Mrs. Elise Quashie who guided and supported the athletes throughout the competition.

Despite encountering a few challenges along the way, the young swimmers demonstrated remarkable determination, courage, and resilience in the pool. Several of the events contested were new experiences for the athletes, but each competitor rose to the occasion with confidence and enthusiasm. Their hard work and commitment paid off, as all three swimmers achieved personal best times during the meet.

Beyond the results, the competition also served as a valuable learning experience for the coaches, who embraced the opportunity to expand their knowledge and further develop their skills within the sport.

The Academy expresses heartfelt gratitude to its supportive parents, colleagues, well-wishers, and everyone who continues to encourage the growth and development of its young athletes.
