The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs has successfully concluded its 2026 School Visit Programme, engaging hundreds of students across St. Vincent and the Grenadines after a four-year hiatus.
The programme officially ended on May 29, following a month of presentations and outreach activities designed to increase awareness of the Ministry’s role and responsibilities.
According to the Ministry, a total of 524 students participated in the initiative, which resumed in May 2026 after being suspended for four years.
Twenty-one educational institutions took part in the programme, including secondary schools across mainland St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as divisions of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC).
Participating institutions included Bishop’s College Kingstown, West St. George Secondary School, Troumaca Secondary School, Dr. J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School, Bethel High School, Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia, Mountain View Adventist Secondary School, St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown, St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua, North Union Secondary School, Adelphi Secondary School, St. Clair Dacon Secondary School, St. Vincent Grammar School, Girls’ High School, St. Martin’s Secondary School, Intermediate High School, Union Island Secondary School, Canouan Secondary School, Charles Adams Anglican School and Bequia Seventh-day Adventist Secondary School.
Students from the SVGCC Division of Technical and Vocational Education (DTVE), Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS), and the Centre for General and Continuing Education (CGCE) also participated.
The Ministry expressed appreciation to the schools, administrators, teachers and students who supported and actively participated in the programme.
Officials said the School Visit Programme forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing public outreach and education efforts and is intended to generate greater interest among students in diplomacy, foreign affairs, international trade and investment.
The initiative also seeks to foster a better understanding of the Ministry’s contribution to national development and its role in representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the regional and international stage.
The Ministry indicated that the successful return of the programme reflects its continued commitment to engaging young people and strengthening public awareness of its work.
