BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis. The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has officially unveiled the theme and logo for the Federation’s 43rd Anniversary of Independence, setting the stage for a month of national celebrations in September.

The announcement was made by the Independence 43 Organizing Committee, which revealed the winning theme following a nationwide competition that attracted hundreds of entries from citizens at home and abroad.

Selected from 336 submissions, the winning theme, “One People, One Vision, Endless Possibility: Independence 43,” was submitted by Dr. Jenson S. Morton of Willett’s Village, St. Paul’s.

Organizers said the theme reflects a Federation united by a shared identity and collective purpose while embracing the opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead.

Alongside the theme, officials also unveiled the official logo for Independence 43, which draws inspiration from the historic Berkeley Memorial located at The Circus in Basseterre.

The landmark, one of the country’s most recognizable monuments, has long served as a symbol of community, civic pride and national heritage. Its distinctive clocks and drinking fountains have made it a focal point of life in the capital for generations.

Co-Chairs of the Independence 43 Organizing Committee, Dr. Marcus L. Natta and Ms. Viera Galloway, praised the response to the competition and highlighted the significance of the selected theme.

In a joint statement, the co-chairs described the winning entry as more than a slogan, saying it represents a vision for national unity and progress.

“One People, One Vision, Endless Possibility” is not merely a phrase; it is the creed by which we move forward together,” the statement noted.

The committee is encouraging citizens and members of the diaspora to actively participate in the Independence celebrations through community service, cultural activities, artistic expression and national pride.

The 43rd Independence Anniversary programme is expected to feature a wide range of cultural, educational and community-focused events throughout September 2026.

Officials said the celebrations will provide opportunities for citizens to reflect on the nation’s achievements, honour its heritage and reaffirm their commitment to building a stronger future for the Federation.
