KINGSTOWN, St Vincent June 16, 2026 – Male inmates at His Majesty’s Prison in Kingstown and the Belle Isle Correctional Facility will be allowed to receive a home-cooked meal from relatives or friends as part of Father’s Day celebrations on Sunday 21 June.
In a notice issued by the Superintendent of Prisons and addressed to the general public, prison authorities said each eligible inmate would be permitted to receive one cooked meal for Father’s Day 2026.
The notice stated that all meals must be delivered in disposable containers and that fast food items would not be accepted.
Only inmates who are fathers will qualify for the special arrangement. In addition, prisoners who have committed breaches of prison regulations between January and June 2026 will not be eligible.
Authorities are urging persons wishing to deliver meals to first confirm that the inmate qualifies under the scheme. Members of the public have been asked to contact His Majesty’s Prison or the Belle Isle Correctional Facility for verification before making arrangements.
The initiative will apply to inmates at both correctional institutions on Father’s Day, 21 June.
