On 31.1.2021, Police arrested and charged Fred George, a 57 years old labourer of Prospect with entering the dwelling house of a 54 years old caretaker of Brighton as a trespasser, and at the time, had with him a weapon of offence namely, a cutlass. George was further charged with allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounding the said caretaker by chopping him on his left index finger with a cutlass. The incident occurred at Brighton on 25.01.2021. The Accused appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 2.02.2021 to answer the charges.

Additional reflectors for the Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) target were installed today, bringing the total number of reflectors installed to nine (9). These reflectors will be used to assist with measurements of deformation associated with the flanks of the volcano.Some gas measurements were done today using a Multi-Gas Instrument and a filter pack. The Multi-Gas measurements were successful. These gas measurements will be used to understand what is happening deep within the volcano as gases are coming to the surface faster than magma. KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton says the government has been advised by the COVAX facility that the country is set to receive between 146,400 and up to 249,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines by mid to late February. The minister said this means that some 125,000 Jamaicans could receive vaccines by the end of February into March.
