A 23-year-old female school teacher told the Serious Offences Court on Monday that she did not want to proceed against her 27-year-old common-law husband, who was charged with wounding her. When Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpleche asked the woman what was the nature of the incident, she explained that her common-law husband stabbed her in the face and other parts of the body. The Administrator for LIAT, Cleveland Seaforth, says all governments in the region will be asked to write off debts owed by the carrier. Seaforth told ABS News that this accounts for nearly a third of the over EC$300 million in liabilities on the airline’s books. “We have spoke to the employees through their unions, we have spoken to a number of stakeholders, some of the creditors we’ve been having discussions with them and we continue to do so,” Seaforth said. “We have also, so far, been speaking with potential investors who have expressed an interest in coming onboard.”

LIAT employees throughout the region who have not been paid for several months could get at least one month’s salary soon, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced. “We have advanced US$1 million so far to pay all LIAT workers right throughout the system for July,” Browne announced Saturday afternoon on Pointe FM. “However, our position is that any liability that arose prior to July should form part of the receivership estate because we stepped in in July. That’s when we decided to take some level of responsibility to give support to the Administrator.”

On 20.08.2020, Police arrested and charged Alvan Lovelace, 36 years old van driver of Campden Park with possession of a Controlled Drug and Drug Trafficking. Investigations revealed that Lovelace allegedly had in his possession 122580 grammes of cannabis with intent to supply it to another. He was further charged with having the controlled drug in his possession for the purpose of drug trafficking. The incident occurred at Pembroke about 12:50pm on 19.08.20.
