The Weather Advisory has been upgraded to a flash-flood warning
Issued at 9:00 am, Monday 5th October, 2020
Moderate to heavy showers, intermittent rain, and thunderstorms will continue across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines due to the presence of low to mid-level moisture and a favorable upper-level atmosphere.
Rainfall accumulations of 50 (approximately 2 inches) with isolated higher amounts in mountainous areas are possible during the next 24 hours.
Latest Satellite and Radar imagery show intense showers and thunderstorms persisting over the interior and eastern side of mainland St. Vincent. Due to the saturated nature of soils from recent rainfall events,
the Weather Advisory which is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, has been upgraded to a Flash-Flood Warning which will remain in effect until 6:00 pm Monday 5th, October 2020. Residents
and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should take the necessary precautionary measures to protect life and property.
A Flood-Watch is issued when conditions are favorable and there exists the possibility of flooding during the watch period.
A Flash-Flood Warning is issued when flooding is imminent or is already occurring.
