A tropical wave continues to affect our islands and cloudy to overcast skies are anticipated tonight into
tomorrow. Models suggest that shower intensity could increase as the night progresses and this may
be accompanied by occasional gusty winds and possible isolated thunderstorms. Rainfall
accumulations of 50 – 75mm (approximately 2-3 inches) with isolated higher amounts in mountainous
areas are possible during the next 18 hours.
As a result, a Flash-Flood watch is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 6:00 pm today 13th
August 2022 until 12:00 noon, Sunday 14th August 2022. Residents and motorists in areas prone to
flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should exercise caution.
A Flood-Watch is issued when conditions are favourable and there exists the possibility of flooding
during the watch period.
This flash-flood watch may be upgraded to a warning if conditions warrant
