Good morning St. Vincent and the Grenadines! We’re seeing another hazy and breezy start across the islands today, with partly cloudy skies and the possibility of a few passing showers throughout the morning.
The latest report from the Meteorological Office at Argyle International Airport shows conditions this morning as cloudy and slightly hazy, with temperatures around 25°C. Northeasterly winds are moving at approximately 19 km/h, bringing a fairly breezy feel across the country.
Forecasters say a high pressure system remains the dominant feature influencing weather conditions across the islands. However, residents can still expect partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies, breezy periods, haze, and a few scattered showers at times.
Humidity levels remain very high this morning at 94%, while barometric pressure stands at 1014.8 mb. Rainfall over the past 24 hours measured 1.0 mm. Yesterday’s maximum temperature climbed to 30.1°C, while overnight temperatures dipped to 22.7°C.
A weather advisory remains in effect, with residents advised to take the necessary precautions due to reduced visibility and poor air quality caused by Saharan dust haze.
Marine conditions are expected to remain slight to moderate in open waters, with swells ranging between 1.2 metres and 2.0 metres. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution due to above-normal swells and reduced visibility in dust haze.
Across the region this morning, Trinidad, Barbados, Antigua, San Juan and Miami are all experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while New York and Toronto remain cloudy. London is enjoying clear skies.
Sunrise today was recorded at 5:37 am, while sunset is expected at 6:27 pm. High tide is forecast for 3:07 pm, while low tide occurred earlier this morning at 7:38 am.
That’s your friendly weather update for today. Keep hydrated, take precautions if you’re sensitive to dust haze, and have a safe and productive Wednesday.
