A police constable on suspension for 13 years for altering a sick leave certificate was yesterday found guilty on two counts of fraud by a San Fernando jury. On October 29th, less than 48 hours before Scotiabank ceased operations in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, payments were made to ex-employees who were owed overtime pay. Some former Scotia workers saw a “Retro O/T PMNT” credit memo to their account while others were told after contacting the bank that checques were issued to them and were available for pickup. According to information obtained, the body of Hermus Ashton was  found  lying on the ground at his home, facedown about 6:20 p.m.   Ashton, a taxi- driver in his early 60’s was discovered by his brother. Police have charged Leje “Soup’ Alexander with attempted murder of Mr. Lionel “Gabler” George on Thursday 7th, Nov 2019. Alexander was charged that on Tuesday 5th November at about 9:02 am, he left the direction of Gonsalves Liqours and pointed a gun at George firing several bullets at George.
