Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that occurred in Kingstown,late Monday evening. According to preliminary reports 23 year old Shaquel Ellis of Belair was shot multiple times about the body by an unknown gunman. He was pronounced dead on the spot . This brings the murder count to three for the year .

Earlier this morning, ANN received video footage of a body of a man laying face down on the sand at Rabacca, on the Windward side of the island. It is unclear at this time the cause of death, however, police have indicated that no foul play is suspected. More on this as information becomes available.

The St. Vincent Electricity Services (VINLEC) says its investigations have revealed that last week Thursday’s power the outage was triggered by a series of events which started at 11:59 am. VINLEC says following the routine maintenance of one of their two 15 MVA transformers at the Lowmans Bay Power Station, the work teams executed a standard procedure to return the transformer to service. However, in executing this procedure that has been in place for last 12 years, the system experienced a current inrush that was notably higher than previously encountered or anticipated. St. Vincent and the Grenadines is working closely with the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) to address the issue of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing. The Ministry of Agriculture says under the work being done St. Vincent will be able to improve the capabilities of national management agencies in the effective implementation of the provisions of the Agreement on Port State Measures to prevent, deter and eliminate this illegal activity. An Agreement for the establishment of a Fish Packaging Facility here, will be signed this Wednesday by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Rainforest Seafoods. Rainforest Seafoods, which is a Jamaican Company, is the Caribbean’s largest processor and supplier of premium quality Seafood. The signing ceremony will be held at the VIP Lounge of the Argyle International Airport at 8:15 Wednesday morning. Rainforest Seafoods has operations in Jamaica, St Lucia, Belize, and Barbados.
